What does…

Faking Awesome Mean?

To me, Faking Awesome means remembering that everything — every system, story, and rule — is made up.

As Yuval Noah Harari wrote in Sapiens, “There are no gods in the universe, no nations, no money, no human rights, no laws, and no justice outside the common imagination of human beings.”

Everything we call “real” started as an idea that enough people agreed to believe. Someone made it up, others followed, and it became fact.

So Faking Awesome is my reminder that I can do the same.

It’s not about pretending. It’s about participation — about giving myself permission to make up my own rules, the kind that align with my values and how I want to live.

Yes, there are laws and structures that help our world function, and many of them are necessary. But there’s also space — so much space — for imagination, for questioning, for creating something truer.

Faking Awesome is me choosing to author my own way of being in the world.
It’s remembering that, since all of this is made up, I can make something better.

Make it

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world.
